The Durham Regional Police Service is urgently requesting the public’s assistance in an active vulnerable missing person search in Ajax for a 15-year-old girl. The youth, identified only as Zoe, has been missing for over a week, causing significant concern for her safety and well-being. According to investigators, Zoe was last seen on Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the busy commercial area of Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue. Due to undisclosed factors, police have officially designated her as “vulnerable,” intensifying the scale of the search operation across the Town of Ajax and surrounding transit corridors.

Zoe is described as a 15-year-old female, approximately 5’2″ tall, with a thin build. She has brown hair accented with distinctive red highlights. While a detailed description of her clothing at the time of her disappearance has not been confirmed, police are urging residents and business owners in the Bayly and Harwood area to review any available surveillance or dashcam footage from the early afternoon of April 13. The vulnerable missing person search in Ajax is being led by the West Division, with officers conducting door-to-door inquiries and patrolling local parks and community hubs where the teen may have sought shelter.

The delay between the date she was last seen and the public appeal is often a result of preliminary investigative steps, but the “vulnerable” status indicates that police believe she may be at risk. Social media appeals have been launched across the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) platforms, with thousands of residents already sharing her photo to increase visibility. Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen Zoe boarding a Durham Region Transit bus or a GO train at the nearby Ajax GO Station on the day she vanished.

Community members are reminded that even the smallest piece of information could be vital to the vulnerable missing person search in Ajax. If you recognize Zoe or have had any contact with her since April 13, you are encouraged to contact the Durham Regional Police at 905-579-1520. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers. Police stress that the goal is to ensure Zoe’s safe return to her family and to provide her with the support services required given her vulnerable status.

As the search enters its second week, local advocacy groups are also joining the effort to spread awareness. “When a child is labeled vulnerable, every hour counts,” noted a community safety volunteer. The DRPS West Division Criminal Investigations Branch remains the lead agency on the case. Updates regarding her status or any new sightings will be released as they become available. Residents are asked to remain vigilant and keep a close eye on community boards and local news feeds for further descriptions or photos that may be released by her family or the authorities.
