A temporary Port Perry fire station closure will limit public access to Scugog Fire Station 61 over the Labour Day weekend while watermain work affects the building’s water service.
The Township of Scugog says the station at 30 Crandell Street will be closed to the public on Friday, September 4, 2026. It is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 8, at 8 a.m.
Water service will be unavailable
According to the township’s September 3 notice, watermain work in the area requires water service to be shut off inside the fire station. Members of the public who planned to visit Fire Services during the closure are being asked to make alternative arrangements.
The notice concerns access to the municipal building. It does not announce a change to emergency telephone procedures. Anyone facing a fire or other immediate emergency should call 911 rather than travelling to the station.
For urgent matters that are not emergencies, the township has directed residents to contact Scugog Fire Services by email at fire@scugog.ca. Residents should be aware that the public closure spans the long weekend even though the water shutdown is connected to work scheduled for Friday.

The station is expected to resume normal public access Tuesday morning. Anyone whose plans depend on visiting the building should check the Township of Scugog website for any further service notices before heading to Crandell Street.
