Durham Regional Police are searching for two suspects believed to be responsible for a series of locker room thefts at recreation centres in Clarington, Ontario.
Investigators from the Durham Regional Police East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began the investigation in December 2025 after reports of multiple thefts at local recreation facilities.
According to police, the incidents occurred at the Courtice Community Complex on Courtice Road and the Diane Hamre Recreation Complex in Newcastle.
Authorities say the suspects targeted lockers inside the facilities and forcefully opened them to steal wallets, bank cards and other personal belongings.
Police allege that after stealing the bank cards, the suspects used them at various retail locations to make high-value purchases.
Following the investigation, police identified two suspects from Toronto who are now wanted in connection with the thefts.
The first suspect, Eduard-Andrei Sandu, 35, is facing numerous charges including:

16 counts of fraud under $5,000

11 counts of possession or use of stolen credit cards

3 counts of theft under $5,000

3 counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

2 counts of disguising face with intent

5 counts of personation

The second suspect, Irina-Georgiana Didei, 29, is wanted for:

Police believe the suspects may have targeted multiple lockers at the recreation centres while patrons were using the facilities.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have cell phone recordings, dash cam footage, surveillance video or information related to the incidents to contact police.

Crime Stoppers notes that tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to search for the suspects.
