Pickering magician Kameron Marshall has ended his America’s Got Talent run as a semifinalist after the public vote advanced two dog acts to the Season 21 final.
Marshall performed in the September 16 semifinal but was outvoted by Olivia Befus and her three dogs. The Acro Canine Crew also advanced, leaving the Pickering performer outside the 10-act final scheduled for September 23.
From a Pickering classroom to the national stage
Marshall’s interest in magic began while he attended John A. Macdonald Public School, now called Biidassige Mandamin Public School, in Pickering’s Bay Ridges neighbourhood.
He previously told INsauga that a Grade 8 teacher showed students America’s Got Talent auditions featuring magicians and encouraged them to learn tricks at home. Several classmates participated at first, but Marshall continued practising through high school.
His 2026 television run included a successful audition and a callback that took him into the live rounds. Reaching the semifinal marked a substantial step beyond his earlier appearances and put a Durham Region performer before an international audience.
Marshall calls the experience a stepping stone
After the result, Marshall described the competition as a wild ride and said he was grateful for the experience. He said the production taught him about television, show business and staying composed while working under pressure.
The Pickering magician also said he learned to trust his instincts and remain authentic on and off camera. He described the semifinal finish as the beginning of a larger career rather than an endpoint.
Marshall specializes in close-up magic, a format that depends on small objects, audience interaction and careful presentation at short range. That approach took him from local performances to one of the world’s most widely watched talent competitions.
