Peter Matthews Drive lane restrictions will affect north Pickering for nearly six weeks while road crews complete infrastructure adjustments and paving.
The restrictions are scheduled from October 12 to November 20 on Peter Matthews Drive, also known as Regional Road 28. The affected stretch runs from just south of Burkholder Drive to Alexander Knox Road.
One lane will remain open
Durham Region says one lane will remain open at all times. Traffic control personnel will direct drivers through the restricted section. Motorists should expect delays, slow down and follow temporary signs.
The work includes adjustments to catch basins and maintenance holes, followed by surface asphalt placement. The Region says the improvements support new development nearby.
Schedule may depend on conditions
No full closure was announced. Access will continue using the single open lane and controlled traffic movements. Weather and site conditions can affect road-work schedules, so residents should check regional updates before travelling.
The Peter Matthews Drive lane restrictions are separate from other Pickering construction notices.
