Oshawa residents got a taste of Latin dance this summer as Oshawa Salsa Dance Night brought music, movement and merengue demonstrations to the city’s Events in the Park series.
Happy Feet Dance Studio led the Salsa and Latin dance night on July 16, with Trina Lewis and Sharon Levit demonstrating the merengue for those attending.
The event was originally planned for Memorial Park but was moved indoors to the Art Resource Centre because of air quality concerns related to wildfires in Northern Ontario.
Guests were able to experience Latin dancing while learning from representatives of the Oshawa-based dance studio.
The Oshawa Salsa Dance Night was one of several Events in the Park nights organized by the City of Oshawa throughout the summer.
The seasonal program brings activities and entertainment to different parks and community spaces across the city, giving residents opportunities to participate in local summer events.
