Two individuals from Oshawa are facing multiple drug- and weapon-related charges following a traffic stop in the Minden area earlier this month, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
OPP say officers responded around 3 p.m. on December 6 after receiving reports of a suspected impaired driver. A traffic stop was conducted, and a subsequent search led to the arrest of two suspects.
During the search, police seized what they described as a quantity of suspected controlled drugs and substances, along with other illegal items.
A 33-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance, as well as possession of break-in instruments, possession of counterfeit money, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a probation order.
A 34-year-old Oshawa woman faces three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance, along with charges of possession of break-in instruments, possession of counterfeit money, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and driving while under suspension.
Police say the seizure included approximately 4.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, 29.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three grams of suspected cocaine, and more than 950 grams of suspected marijuana.
