The Oshawa Generals lost 5-4 in overtime to the Peterborough Petes on Thursday, October 22, after the home side erased a two-goal deficit.
Onni Kalto scored twice and added an assist for Oshawa, earning the second star of the game. The Generals’ official recap says three Oshawa players finished with multiple points.
Oshawa answers an early deficit
Peterborough went ahead 2-0 early in the first period on goals by Landon Roulston and Leon Kolarik. Oshawa responded with three consecutive goals from Tyler Hinde, Kalto and Brooks Rogowski.
That recovery gave the visitors a 3-2 lead at the first intermission. Kalto’s second goal early in the middle period extended the advantage to 4-2.
The Petes then scored once in the second period and once in the third to bring the teams level and force overtime.
Overturned goal precedes the winner
The Generals’ recap says a Rogowski goal was overturned on an offside call before Peterborough converted its second chance into the winning goal. The club describes the result as another overtime disappointment for Oshawa.
The final score is a new result from the October 22 game, rather than a repeat of earlier coverage of Oshawa’s October 18 loss to Kitchener or a preview of the Peterborough matchup.
Immediate rematch in Oshawa
The Oshawa Generals return home to host the Petes on Friday, October 23, at the Tribute Communities Centre. The club’s report lists puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
The back-to-back meetings give Oshawa an immediate chance to respond against the same opponent. No further outcome is assumed for Friday’s game.
