As Easter Weekend approaches, Oshawa residents are being informed of holiday schedule changes that will affect City services, waste collection, and recreation facilities from Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6, 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about how the Easter holiday may impact services in Oshawa:
Service Oshawa & City Hall
Service Oshawa will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, but Customer Service Representatives will be available on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Waste Services
There will be no waste collection service on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. However, due to the holiday schedule:
- Friday, April 3 collection will be moved to Saturday, April 4.
- The week of April 6 will also see a one-day delay in waste collection.

Recreation Facilities
The City’s recreation facilities will follow a modified schedule over the Easter weekend. Please note that these hours apply to regular public access and facilities may operate outside specified hours for permitted rentals. Here’s a breakdown of recreation facility hours:
- Friday, April 3:
- Civic Recreation Complex: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Delpark Homes Centre: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, April 4:
- Civic Recreation Complex: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Delpark Homes Centre: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Donevan Recreation Complex: 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- South Oshawa Community Centre: 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday, April 5:
- Delpark Homes Centre: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, April 6:
- Civic Recreation Complex: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Delpark Homes Centre: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Please note that all other recreation facilities will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Additionally, registered recreation programs will be cancelled during the holiday weekend.
