Groceries are getting a major digital upgrade for residents across the Durham Region. In a move designed to redefine convenience, the Canadian delivery giant Skip announced on Tuesday a massive nationwide partnership with Loblaw Companies Limited. This collaboration introduces a new way to shop at 13 different Loblaw banners, bringing essential goods from local favorites like No Frills and Real Canadian Superstore directly to the doorsteps of families from Pickering to Clarington.
A Major Milestone for Digital Grocery Expansion
The partnership marks a “key milestone” for the homegrown delivery platform as it continues to pivot from restaurant meals to full-scale retail offerings. While Loblaw banners were added to Uber Eats late last year, the inclusion of Skip provides a broader reach into smaller communities and towns across the Durham Region, including Uxbridge and Scugog, where the platform maintains a strong local presence.
“Our partnership with Loblaw brings together two homegrown brands to redefine convenience,” said Paul Sudarsan, a spokesperson for the delivery company. Whether it is a full weekly grocery haul for a family in Whitby or a last-minute dinner save for a commuter in Oshawa, the service aims to meet Canadians “in every postal code” and at every price point, from discount banners to premium markets.
Banners Included in the Launch
The rollout covers a vast array of the Loblaw portfolio. Residents can now find the following banners on the delivery app:
-
No Frills: For those looking for deep discounts and “Won’t Be Beat” pricing.
-
Loblaws and Zehrs: Offering a premium selection of fresh produce and President’s Choice products.
-
Real Canadian Superstore: The go-to for bulk items and household essentials.
-
Your Independent Grocer: Serving many of the smaller townships within the region.
This new way to shop is integrated directly into the existing app interface, allowing users to browse aisles virtually, track their delivery in real-time, and utilize their existing accounts.
Promotions and Incentives for Durham Shoppers
To celebrate the launch and encourage residents in Ajax and Pickering to try the service, a significant introductory offer has been released. Customers can receive 30 per cent off their first three orders of $45 or more (up to a $15 discount per order) by using the promotional code SHOP30. This offer is valid until May 31, 2026, providing an ample window for residents to test the efficiency of the new delivery routes.
As the retail landscape continues to evolve, this partnership underscores a growing trend toward “instant” grocery access. For busy parents and seniors in the Durham Region, the ability to access the province’s largest grocer through a familiar Canadian delivery app represents more than just a novelty—it is a significant shift in how the community manages its daily essentials.
