Durham Regional Police have confirmed that a missing 78-year-old woman from Ajax has been located safe and sound, bringing the search to a close.
Police had earlier asked for the public’s assistance in locating Rasamalar, who was last seen around noon on Thursday, December 18, in the area of Audley Road North and Rossland Road East in Ajax. At the time, officers noted she was unfamiliar with the area and only moderately dressed for the weather, prompting concern for her well-being.
Rasamalar was described as a 78-year-old woman, approximately 5’1” tall, with a slim build and brown skin, wearing a maroon coat, a blue and white skirt, and carrying a green purse.
On Friday morning, police confirmed she had been found safely. No further details were released.
Durham Regional Police thanked members of the public for their assistance and awareness during the search.
