A 38-year-old Oshawa man is in custody following a stabbing at a residence in the city Thursday evening.
Durham police say officers from Central East Division responded to an armed person call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on January 1 at a residence near Ritson Road North and Adelaide Avenue East.
Investigators allege that a man living in a rooming house assaulted and stabbed another resident. Police arrived on scene and located both the victim and the suspect.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Nnamdi Enunwa, 38, of Oshawa, has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
He was held for a bail hearing.
