A proposal for Liverpool Road Pickering townhouses could bring 21 new residential units to a site near Frenchman’s Bay.
Plaza 6 Inc. has submitted plans for a townhouse development located west of Liverpool Road, north of Annland Street, south of Commerce Street, and east of Pleasant Street. The site includes the properties at 666, 668, 672, 678, and 682 Liverpool Rd., which currently contain several single-detached homes.
The Liverpool Road Pickering townhouses proposal includes four townhouse blocks. Two blocks would front directly onto Liverpool Road, while the remaining two would face an internal private road.
Each townhouse unit would be provided with two parking spaces, along with six visitor parking spots across the development.
As part of the application, the developer is requesting an amendment to the City of Pickering’s Official Plan to redesignate the land from low-density to medium-density residential. The current zoning permits a maximum density of 30 dwelling units per net hectare, while the proposal seeks to increase that figure to 54.
Public meeting dates have not yet been announced. Pickering council will not consider the Liverpool Road Pickering townhouses application until public consultation has taken place.
