UXBRIDGE — Gardening enthusiasts, home cooks, and families are invited to discover the benefits of heritage herbs during the upcoming Herb Harvest event at the Uxbridge Historical Centre.
The educational event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the herbs grown in the centre’s Heritage Herb Garden while gaining practical tips on how they can be used in everyday cooking and home gardening.
A highlight of the evening will be a special presentation by Mama Richter of Richter’s Herbs, a well-known expert in herb cultivation and gardening. During the talk, attendees will learn about a variety of local and pioneer herbs that have been cultivated in the Heritage Herb Garden and the important roles they have played in traditional kitchens and home remedies over the years.
Following the presentation, participants will have the chance to harvest herbs from the garden and take them home, providing a hands-on experience that connects visitors with Uxbridge’s agricultural and historical heritage.
The Heritage Herb Garden has recently undergone significant improvements thanks to the efforts of the Uxbridge Horticultural Society. Organizers have expressed their appreciation for the society’s work in revitalizing the garden, helping preserve an important educational resource for the community.
