A Scugog snowmobile collision on February 8, 2026, resulted in serious injuries to a 31-year-old man, who was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
Durham police responded to the incident around 6:25 p.m. near Byers Road and Cartwright West Quarter Line. Officers found the male on an unassumed road near his snowmobile. He was initially transported to a local hospital and then airlifted by Air ORNG to the trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
The Scugog snowmobile collision investigation is ongoing. Durham police members from the Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene, and the roads were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
