Following a delegation from the Jury Lands Foundation, the Council set a deadline of end of 2026 for the foundation to secure funds to stabilize the deteriorating World War II building.
The municipality cited years of prior investment, volunteer efforts, and escalating potential restoration costs as reasons for withdrawing further financial support. Staff will continue to coordinate with the foundation to meet safety requirements and, once funding is secured, oversee the restoration project.

Ongoing costs for fencing and security are estimated at $20,789 + HST per month, totaling approximately $249,500 per year. The Council emphasized that additional municipal investment is not planned, putting the responsibility on the Jury Lands Foundation to secure funding for the historic site.
