Durham Regional Police are searching for five suspects following an armed robbery at Lakeview Park in Oshawa early Thursday morning.
Police were called to the area of Lakeview Park Avenue and Simcoe Street South shortly after 2 a.m. on Jan. 8. According to investigators, a man and a woman were standing near their vehicle when a dark-coloured sedan parked behind them and five male suspects approached.
Police say two of the suspects pointed handguns at the victims, while a third suspect was armed with a knife. The suspects stole both victims’ mobile phones, along with jewelry, shoes and cash belonging to the male victim. He suffered minor injuries during the incident, while the female victim was not physically harmed.
The suspects fled the scene in the sedan following the robbery.
Durham police are asking anyone who was in the area between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., and who may have cellphone footage, dash camera recordings or surveillance video, to contact investigators at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2712.
