Durham Regional Police say a man in his thirties found with gunshot wounds in downtown Oshawa Sunday morning may not have been shot at the location where he was discovered.
Staff Sgt. Jeff Caplan explained that EMS, responding to a medical call on Simcoe Street, north of Bond Street, confirmed the victim had gunshot injuries. No calls reporting gunfire were received by police.
The man was transported to a Toronto trauma centre, where he remains in life-threatening condition following surgery.
A significant police presence remains in downtown Oshawa, and authorities are asking anyone with witness information to contact Durham Regional Police at 905-579-1520.
