Durham Regional Police are seeking the public’s help with a Bowmanville Mall break-in investigation after merchandise and cash were stolen from a business inside the building.
In a release dated November 6, police said the incident happened during the early morning hours of November 3, 2026, at the mall at 243 King Street East in Clarington.
Entry through a rear door
According to investigators, a suspect forced entry through a rear maintenance door and entered the building. Once inside, the suspect broke into a business and took merchandise and cash.
The release does not identify the affected business, give a value for the stolen property or announce an arrest. Those details should not be inferred from the appeal.
Police describe the suspect
Police describe the suspect as a male approximately 30 years old. He was wearing a black hat bearing the word “Security,” a yellow construction jacket and a black face covering.
That description is part of the identification appeal; it does not establish that the individual was employed in security or construction.
Members of the Central East Criminal Investigations Branch are asking anyone with information about the Bowmanville Mall break-in to contact Detective Constable Fyfe at 905-579-1520, extension 1705.
