Durham highway work will add overnight lane, express-roadway and ramp restrictions in Oshawa, Whitby and Pickering from November 8, according to newly updated Ontario 511 records.

The nine provincial entries were updated November 3 and 4. They describe later work windows than the restrictions already reported for November 1–7, and include an additional eastbound on-ramp closure at Brock Road.

Oshawa: Ritson–Harmony work November 8–13

Highway 401 eastbound between Ritson Road and Harmony Road is listed for nightly construction affecting two alternating lanes. The overall period runs from 8 p.m. November 8 until 5 a.m. November 13.

The corresponding westbound section, from Harmony Road to Ritson Road, has the same dates, times and two-alternating-lane restriction. Ontario 511 identifies these as records 251756 and 251755, updated November 4 at 9:15 a.m. and 9:11 a.m. respectively.

These later entries are separate from the current Ritson–Harmony work period ending November 6. They do not describe a continuous closure of every Highway 401 lane for five days.

Whitby: Highway 412 restrictions November 9–11

One left lane on Highway 412 northbound between Dundas Street West and Rossland Road is listed for nightly maintenance from 10 p.m. November 9 through 6 a.m. November 11.

A matching southbound entry runs from Rossland Road to Dundas Street West over the same period, also affecting one left lane. Records 251775 and 251774 were updated November 4 at 2:20 p.m. and 2:18 p.m.

Pickering: express lanes and Brock Road ramps

Five nightly-construction records cover November 9–14 work on Highway 401 in Pickering:

All eastbound express lanes between Whites Road and Brock Road are listed as closed from 9 p.m. November 9 through 7 a.m. November 14, record 251730.

All westbound express lanes at Brock Road are listed as closed from 7 p.m. November 9 through 5 a.m. November 14, record 251731. The provincial description names Brock Road at both ends of this section.

The eastbound collector off-ramp at Brock Road is listed as fully closed from 10 p.m. November 9 through 5:30 a.m. November 14, record 251733.

The westbound on-ramp at Brock Road is listed as fully closed from 9 p.m. November 9 through 5:30 a.m. November 14, record 251732.

An additional eastbound on-ramp closure at Brock Road runs from 11 p.m. November 9 through 5 a.m. November 14, record 251767. That entry was updated November 4 at 12:56 p.m.; the other four Pickering entries were updated November 3 between 3:59 and 4:03 p.m.

Check the current work record before travelling

The nightly classification means these are recurring overnight work windows, not confirmation of uninterrupted closures throughout each multi-day period. Express-roadway restrictions should not be described as a shutdown of every lane, including collectors.

The reviewed records do not provide a confirmed signed detour. Drivers planning around Durham highway work should check Ontario 511 before departure because dates and lane availability can change, and follow posted traffic controls.
