Durham highway work includes a northbound Highway 12 lane restriction in Brock on October 29 and new maintenance and construction windows starting over the next several days.

Ontario 511’s provincial records distinguish daily work, recurring nightly restrictions and full ramp closures. The new schedules below are separate from the previously reported late-October and early-November work on other Durham highway sections.

Brock: Highway 12 work today

One right lane on Highway 12 northbound between Brock Township 11th Line and Durham Road 12 is listed for daily maintenance from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 29.

The record, numbered 251430, was updated October 28 at 3:36 p.m. It describes a lane restriction, not a full highway shutdown or the earlier fatal collision investigation on Highway 12.

Scugog and Pickering: October 30 starts

At Cragg Road in Scugog, Highway 7/12 has separate northbound and southbound nightly maintenance entries affecting one right lane in each direction. Both run from 6:30 p.m. October 30 through 6:30 a.m. November 7.

Highway 7 westbound between North Road and Pickering Sideline 34 has a nightly right-lane restriction beginning at 6:30 p.m. October 30 and ending at 7 a.m. November 7.

These three provincial entries were updated October 28. They set out later work windows than the October 16–24 restrictions previously reported for the same areas.

Oshawa: another Ritson–Harmony work period

On Highway 401 eastbound between Ritson Road and Harmony Road, two alternating lanes are scheduled for nightly construction from 8 p.m. November 1 through 5 a.m. November 6.

The corresponding westbound entry between Harmony and Ritson roads has the same overall dates and times and also identifies two alternating lanes. The two records were updated at 12:26 p.m. and 12:28 p.m. October 28.

Whitby: later maintenance windows

Ontario 511 also lists four later work periods in Whitby beginning November 2:

  • Highway 412 southbound at Dundas Street West: one alternating lane, nightly, from 10 p.m. November 2 through 5 a.m. November 7.
  • Highway 407 westbound on-ramp at Highway 412: all ramp lanes, nightly moving maintenance, with the same overall dates and times.
  • Highway 412 northbound off-ramp at Highway 407: all ramp lanes, nightly, from 11 p.m. November 2 through 5 a.m. November 7.
  • Highway 407 eastbound on-ramp at Lake Ridge Road: all ramp lanes, nightly, during that same 11 p.m. November 2 to 5 a.m. November 7 period.

Earlier coverage of these locations described October 28–31 work. The current entries now specify a November 2–7 window. A nightly classification does not mean the road or ramp remains closed continuously throughout every listed day.

Drivers planning around Durham highway work should recheck Ontario 511 before leaving and follow posted traffic controls. The records reviewed do not provide confirmed detours. Entries for Brockville, Orillia and other communities outside Durham were excluded rather than counted as local closures.
