The Oshawa Walk of Fame gala will bring the city’s 2026 honourees to the Jubilee Pavilion on November 5, celebrating achievements in sport, science, music and community service.
The current class listed by the organizing committee includes Olympic soccer gold medallist Allysha Chapman, scientist Donald R. Sadoway, songwriter Mars Bonfire, drummer Jerry Edmonton and the Auxiliary of Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
The event’s presenting sponsor identifies Thursday, November 5, at 5 p.m. as the date and time. The organizer’s linked ticket page lists the venue at 55 Lakeview Park Avenue in Oshawa.
Recognition across several fields
The Walk of Fame honours people and groups whose work has contributed to Oshawa’s life and reputation. Its sidewalk plaques preserve those connections in the downtown, while the gala provides a separate opportunity to recognise the honourees.
The committee identifies Sadoway as a clean-energy scientist, Chapman as an Olympic athlete, Bonfire as a songwriter and Edmonton as a Steppenwolf drummer. The hospital auxiliary is being recognised as a volunteer organization and community builder.
Bonfire and his late brother Edmonton are linked to the rock classic “Born to Be Wild.” Their inclusion places music alongside scientific innovation, international sport and hospital volunteering in this year’s class.
Tickets and the next class
The organizer’s ticket listing gives individual admission as $150 and a table of eight as $1,100. DurhamRegion.com’s current report says proceeds beyond operating costs will go to the Rotary Club of Oshawa.
That report also says the committee is seeking nominations for the 2027 class. The current gala coverage is not an announcement that the 2026 sidewalk stones have already been installed.
Residents planning to attend the Oshawa Walk of Fame gala should use the organizer’s current ticket link for availability and booking information.
