The Oshawa Generals Brantford result ended in a 5-3 loss for the home team Sunday night after a four-goal Bulldogs surge in the second period.
Oshawa entered the game at the Tribute Communities Centre after Saturday’s dramatic 4-2 comeback win in Barrie. Brantford had beaten Kingston 10-4 the same night, setting up an early-season meeting between the East Division’s top two teams.
Bulldogs break open close game
Brantford scored the only goal of the opening period on a power play. Jason Musa finished a passing sequence from Aiden Kelly and Jet Kwajah, sending a one-timer over Oshawa goaltender Matthew Humphries.
Aiden O’Donnell tied the game one minute into the second period. Brady Murnane’s shot changed direction and landed on O’Donnell’s stick, leaving him an open net for his second goal of the season.
The Bulldogs then scored four consecutive goals. Jack Torr restored Brantford’s lead before George Komadoski recorded his first goal of the season. Kaden McGregor added two goals as the visitors built a 5-1 advantage.
Oshawa replaced Humphries with Jaden Cholette after the fifth Brantford goal. Mark Pape answered soon afterward with his second goal of the season, cutting the deficit to three before the second intermission.
Third-period push stops at two goals
Ryan Hedley scored his first Ontario Hockey League goal six minutes into the third period. He won position near the net and converted a rebound to bring the Generals within 5-3.
Oshawa later pulled Cholette for an extra attacker, but Brantford goaltender Vilmer Salen Forsberg stopped the final chances and protected the two-goal lead. The Bulldogs collected the two standings points.
The Generals’ penalty kill allowed two goals on three Brantford power plays. Oshawa’s official recap said the team played well in the first and third periods but could not overcome its difficult second period.
Onni Kalto left the game after being checked from behind late in the first period and did not return. The official report did not provide a further update on his condition.
The Oshawa Generals Brantford result closed a stretch of three games in three nights for Oshawa. The Generals are scheduled to host the Ottawa 67’s Friday, October 2, at 7:05 p.m.
