The Uxbridge Community Centre is expected to reopen Monday, September 28 after structural inspections and a temporary-repair plan following a vehicle collision.
A vehicle struck the exterior wall at Uxbridge Arena on September 23. The township closed the community-centre portion while keeping the main arena and regular programming open.
Temporary wall planned before reopening
The Township of Uxbridge says final inspections and assessments are complete and a restoration plan has been established.
A temporary wall is expected to be installed by Sunday, September 27, allowing a safe reopening the following day.
Permanent repairs will follow. The municipal update gives no completion date for that longer-term work.
Arena remains open
The reopening applies specifically to the community centre. The arena remained open during inspections.
The September 28 date is a substantial change from the original notice, which said the centre would remain closed until further notice. Users should check township notices in case the schedule changes.
The Uxbridge Community Centre update follows a collision with no reported serious injuries. The damaged section was vacant.
