Ajax-Union GO service changes will replace trains with buses west of Ajax during a weekend of Lakeshore East track upgrades.
From Saturday, September 26, through the end of service on Sunday, September 27, trains will run only between Durham College Oshawa GO and Ajax GO on an hourly schedule. Some late-night service will also be adjusted on Friday, September 25.
Replacement buses will run from Ajax
GO buses will replace trains between Ajax and Pickering. Those buses are scheduled to travel from Ajax to Pickering GO and then operate directly to Union Station Bus Terminal.
Metrolinx says there will be no GO Transit service at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough or Danforth GO stations during the disruption. Riders travelling to or from those stations are being directed to the TTC.
Replacement buses may leave at different times than the regular train schedule. Connections with GO bus route 88 may also be affected.
Passengers should plan before travelling
Durham passengers heading toward Toronto should allow extra time, confirm their trip before leaving and pay attention to the transfer arrangement at Ajax and Pickering. Travellers using the eastern part of the line can still use the hourly train between Oshawa and Ajax.
The temporary changes are required for major track upgrades. Regular service is expected to resume after the weekend work, subject to the operator’s current service information.
