Three Toronto-area people face charges after a Durham break-and-enter investigation into thefts from industrial and commercial properties during summer 2026.
Ontario Provincial Police said the investigation covered multiple break-ins in Durham Region and the Town of Caledon. Police executed search warrants at three Toronto addresses on Thursday, September 10.
Three accused held for bail hearings
The accused include two Scarborough residents, aged 25 and 35, and a 36-year-old Toronto resident, according to reports by Bayshore Broadcasting and DurhamRegion.com.
The charges listed across the investigation include five counts of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and theft over $5,000. One accused also faces two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Police said all three people were held for bail hearings. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
Several OPP detachments assisted
The Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit carried out the warrants with help from officers serving Collingwood, Huronia West, Nottawasaga and Southern Georgian Bay.
Public reports did not identify the specific Durham businesses involved or provide a complete value for property allegedly taken.
