An Ajax Man Home Invasion case has resulted in multiple criminal charges more than a year after an armed break-in at a residence north of Brampton ended with a firearm being discharged.
Ontario Provincial Police say the home invasion happened shortly before 5 a.m. on March 31, 2025, at a residence on Old King Road in the Bolton area of Caledon.
Investigators allege four male suspects entered the home and were carrying several firearms.
One person has now been arrested, while police continue searching for at least three other suspects connected to the investigation.
Armed confrontation reported inside home
According to police, one of the suspects displayed a firearm after the group entered the residence.
Investigators allege the suspects were carrying numerous guns when a confrontation occurred between the intruders and one of the people inside the home.
Police say one of the suspects fired a gun during the incident.
Minor injuries were reported following the confrontation.
The OPP continued investigating the home invasion for more than a year before announcing an arrest in the case.
Ajax resident arrested
Police say a 24-year-old Ajax man was arrested on July 6 in connection with the investigation.
He faces several charges, including two counts of unauthorized possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Additional charges include reckless discharge of a firearm, robbery using a firearm, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Police have also charged the accused with possession of an automobile master key and possession of an identity document.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Three other suspects still sought
The Ajax Man Home Invasion investigation remains active despite the arrest.
Police say at least three additional suspects are still being sought in connection with the March 2025 break-in.
Investigators have released images connected with the case as they continue efforts to identify and locate those individuals.
No further information about the outstanding suspects was included in the supplied report.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the individuals or has information about the home invasion to contact investigators.

The break-in occurred on Old King Road in Bolton, a community within the Town of Caledon.
Although the crime happened outside Durham Region, the arrest has a local connection because the accused is identified by police as being from Ajax.
