Families and kite enthusiasts are invited to celebrate one of Uxbridge’s favourite summer traditions as Kite Day returns to the Uxbridge Historical Centre on Saturday, July 11.
The annual community event offers visitors an opportunity to spend an afternoon outdoors flying colourful kites while enjoying the scenic views from Quaker Hill, one of Uxbridge’s most picturesque locations.
Running from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Kite Day welcomes residents and visitors of all ages for an afternoon filled with family-friendly fun, creativity, and outdoor recreation.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own kite, but those who don’t have one can purchase or even create a kite during the event. Organizers will offer activities that allow participants to build their own kites before taking to the skies above the historic grounds.
The event combines hands-on activities with the excitement of kite flying, making it an enjoyable experience for children, parents, grandparents, and anyone looking to spend time outdoors during the summer.
Set against the backdrop of the Uxbridge Historical Centre, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside while participating in one of the community’s longest-running seasonal events.
Kite Day has become a beloved tradition in Uxbridge, attracting families each year who come together to celebrate summer, explore the historical grounds, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the fresh air.
In addition to kite flying, visitors can explore the beautiful outdoor setting of the Historical Centre, making the event an ideal destination for a family day trip or weekend outing.
Organizers recommend arriving early to make the most of the activities and to take advantage of favourable afternoon winds for flying kites.
Whether bringing a favourite kite from home, purchasing one on-site, or creating a custom design during the event, participants are encouraged to join in this colourful community celebration.
Kite Day is one of several seasonal events hosted at the Uxbridge Historical Centre, helping showcase local heritage while providing engaging activities for residents and visitors throughout the summer.
