Environment Canada is warning that 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected across Durham Region, with significant impacts to rush hour traffic likely.
Drivers are advised to prepare for rapidly changing conditions, reduced visibility in heavy and blowing snow, and longer travel times. Snow is expected to continue through Thursday afternoon before tapering off in the evening.
A developing low-pressure system will also bring a sharp drop in temperatures and cold wind chills by Thursday morning, worsening travel conditions.
