Whitby voter notification cards are being mailed to eligible electors whose names appear on the town’s voters’ list ahead of the October 26 municipal election.
Each card identifies the elector’s ward, school support and qualifying address. It also provides voting dates and location information.
The Town of Whitby is asking residents to review those details as soon as the card arrives. Anyone who does not receive a card, or finds incorrect information, can use the town’s election website to check or update their record.
Voter-list changes remain available
Online changes through Whitby’s Plan Your Vote tool can be made until 4:30 p.m. on October 23. Electors can also update their information in person at a voting location during the voting period from October 22 to October 26.
A voter notification card is useful but is not the only item needed for in-person voting. Electors must bring one piece of identification showing their name and Whitby address. Bringing the card may make the process faster.
Three ways to vote in Whitby
Whitby residents have three voting options in the 2026 election:
- Special mail-in ballot: eligible voters who cannot vote in person can apply, subject to the town’s application requirements and deadlines.
- Advance voting: October 22 to 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at three locations.
- Election day: Monday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 19 locations.
Whitby is using a vote-anywhere system for in-person voting. Eligible residents can cast a ballot at the participating location that works best for them, regardless of their ward.
The town says 47 candidates will appear on local ballots. Candidate information, voting locations and election details are available through Whitby’s official election page.
Residents who need to correct their information should not wait for election day if they can make the change earlier. The mailing of Whitby voter notification cards is intended to give electors time to confirm their details and plan where and when they will vote.
