Two residents face multiple charges after a Whitby loaded firearm seizure on September 30.
Durham police said Guns and Gangs Unit officers located a man and woman near Dundas Street East and Garden Street during a firearm investigation. Both were arrested without incident.
Police report prohibited magazine
A search resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm with a prohibited overcapacity magazine, according to police information reported by Durham Radio News.
A 22-year-old Whitby man is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
A 19-year-old Whitby woman faces four related firearm and prohibited-device charges.
Both were held for bail hearings. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the Whitby loaded firearm seizure to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
