Two 17-year-old youths have been arrested following a Whitby firearm incident reported Wednesday afternoon, according to Durham Regional Police.
Police were called to the area of Baldwin Street and Taunton Road in north Whitby around 1:20 p.m. after reports that a male was pointing a firearm from a moving vehicle. Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle in a nearby parking lot.
Two male youths connected to the vehicle were taken into custody. Police confirmed that a replica firearm was recovered during the investigation. No physical injuries were reported.
Both teens, who are residents of Whitby, were later released into a youth diversion program.
