The Town of Whitby is encouraging residents to prepare for the Whitby municipal election after turnout fell to 23.26 per cent in 2022.
Whitby’s September 25 notice says fewer than one in four eligible local electors cast a ballot in the last municipal election. Province-wide turnout was 32.9 per cent, according to Association of Municipalities of Ontario data cited by the town.
Voting Day is October 26
Voting Day is Monday, October 26. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 19 locations, and eligible Whitby electors can vote at any location.
Advance voting is scheduled October 22 through 25, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library, Whitby Town Hall and the Abilities Centre.

The town’s Plan Your Vote tool lets electors check voters-list information, find voting locations, review candidates and plan when and where to vote.
