The beloved tradition is back! Tim Hortons has officially announced the return of its Roll Up The Rim contest, starting February 23, 2026, and continuing until March 22, 2026. After a few years without the iconic feature due to the pandemic and the introduction of a digital version, customers in Ontario and across Canada can once again roll up their coffee cups and win exciting prizes.

Tim Hortons Bring Back, which first started in 1986, has been a favorite among Canadians for decades, with participants eagerly awaiting the chance to win free coffee, donuts, and even grand prizes. Tim Hortons had to suspend the physical cup version during the COVID-19 pandemic due to health concerns over handling cups for prize claims. However, after experimenting with the physical version last year on a trial basis, the company received positive feedback from customers, leading to its permanent return this year.

For 2026, the promotion is bigger than ever, with 30 million prizes available, including seven 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz vehicles, vacations, VIP experiences, electronics, gift cards, cash, and millions of free coffees and donuts. With the return of the physical cup version, customers can look forward to the thrill of unrolling their rim for a chance to win one of these fantastic rewards.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Roll Up The Rim, making it even more special for Canadians. Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, shared, “For decades, Canadians looked forward every spring to Rolling Up The Rim of their coffee cups at Tims, and we always heard they loved the tradition of winning a free coffee — a little thing that could make their day — as well as the chance of winning a grand prize like a new car.”

In addition to the contest’s return, Tim Hortons also announced improvements to its product offerings, including the introduction of fountain drink machines at select locations and upgrades to its espresso-making equipment. They also revealed enhancements to the English muffins used in their popular breakfast sandwiches, further improving the customer experience.

The Roll Up The Rim promotion will be available not only at physical Tim Hortons locations but also through the Tims app, ensuring that both in-store and digital customers can join in the fun. The company’s move to bring back the traditional cup-based contest has been met with widespread excitement, as customers across Ontario and Canada are ready to embrace this nostalgic tradition.

Event Details:

  • Start Date: February 23, 2026

  • End Date: March 22, 2026

  • Location: Available across all Tim Hortons locations in Ontario and Canada

  • Contest Type: Physical cups and Tims app
