Southern Ontario Wind Chill to Feel Like -31 C This Week

Another round of unsettled winter weather is forecast for southern Ontario this week, bringing snow, strong winds, and dangerously cold wind chill values across the region.

On Monday, periods of light snow are expected, with winds increasing to 40 km/h and gusts reaching 60 km/h by the afternoon. Temperatures will remain near -8 C, though wind chill values will make it feel closer to -19 C. By evening, skies will become partly cloudy with a chance of flurries, and overnight lows will drop to -15 C, with wind chills falling to -25 C.

Tuesday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, along with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Daytime highs will reach -10 C, with cloudy periods continuing overnight and lows near -16 C.

Snow returns intermittently on Wednesday, with daytime highs climbing to 0 C. Cloudy skies and windy conditions will follow into the evening, bringing a higher chance of flurries and overnight lows near -11 C.

On Thursday, conditions will remain unsettled with a mix of sun and cloud and a chance of flurries. Highs will reach -6 C, with cloudy skies persisting into the night and temperatures dropping to -13 C.

Friday will stay cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of flurries, and highs around -7 C. Light snow may continue overnight with lows near -13 C.

By Saturday, temperatures will remain cold, with daytime highs near -8 C. Evening temperatures are expected to fall to -18 C, though southern Ontario wind chill values could make it feel as cold as -31 C.

Residents are advised to dress for extreme cold, limit time outdoors, and continue monitoring weather updates.
