A southern Ontario snow storm is expected to move into the region on Wednesday, bringing widespread snowfall, reduced visibility, and challenging travel conditions.
According to Environment Canada’s significant weather outlook, nearly all of southern Ontario will be affected by the system. Forecasts indicate snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres across much of the region, with higher totals possible due to lake-enhanced snowfall.
Parts of the Bruce Peninsula and areas east of Georgian Bay could receive up to 20 centimetres of snow, while regions northeast of Lake Ontario may see totals reaching 15 centimetres.
Forecasters warn that visibility may be reduced during periods of heavier snow, and road conditions could become hazardous, particularly during peak travel hours.
The incoming storm follows a stretch of unsettled winter weather across southern Ontario, including frigid temperatures earlier in the week and snow squalls in some areas. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and plan travel accordingly.
