Oshawa Socktoberfest is returning for a third year with music, comedy and a collection of winter clothing for people without shelter.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at the Biltmore Theatre, 39 King Street East in downtown Oshawa. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
Admission is free with a donation. Organizers are asking guests to bring new socks or underwear, gently used winter clothing, or shoes for people facing cold weather without stable housing.
Music, comedy and Ed the Sock memorabilia
Ed the Sock, host of the All-Night Show on 94.9 The Rock, will host the event. The announced music lineup includes Stuck On Planet Earth, Full Throttle, Blame Thrower and Mindy Sins.
An Ed the Sock museum display is also expected to return, featuring versions of the television character dating back to 1987 along with MuchMusic memorabilia.
The event is restricted to people 19 and older. The venue warns that capacity is limited, so guests should arrive early and bring government-issued photo identification.
Durham Radio News reported the October 15 event on Wednesday morning. The Biltmore ticket page also lists Thursday, October 15, but one line on that page shows the stale year 2025. October 15 falls on a Thursday in 2026, and the current local report identifies this as the 2026 event. Guests should confirm the listing with the venue before travelling.
94.9 The Rock and Durham Radio News share the same parent company, Durham Radio Inc.; that relationship is disclosed in the source report.
