Guides leading the Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby will also teach participants how to identify various tree species on their own, encouraging greater appreciation for the diversity of trees and green spaces within Durham Region communities.

Organizers say the event is intended to raise awareness about the important environmental role pollinators play in ecosystems and food production. Native bees and pollinators rely heavily on healthy natural spaces, and events like the Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby help educate residents about conservation and biodiversity.

The walking tour will take place at Cullen Central Park, located at 4015 Cochrane Street, one of Whitby’s popular outdoor recreation and green space destinations. Participants are expected to spend the morning walking through park trails while discussing environmental topics related to trees and pollinator habitats.

Environmental workshops and guided outdoor tours continue to grow in popularity across Durham Region as residents seek opportunities to connect with nature and learn about sustainability. The Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby combines outdoor recreation with environmental education in a family-friendly community setting.

Registration is required for the event, and organizers encourage residents to secure their spots in advance due to limited capacity. Community environmental events such as the Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby also support local efforts focused on urban forestry, biodiversity, and ecological awareness.

The tour highlights how parks and urban green spaces contribute to healthier communities while supporting important wildlife populations. Participants attending the Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby will gain practical knowledge about trees, pollinators, and environmental stewardship that they can apply in their own neighbourhoods and gardens.

Residents interested in environmental education, gardening, conservation, or outdoor activities are encouraged to join the Pollinator Tree Tour Whitby and celebrate Pollinator Week through a guided exploration of Whitby’s natural spaces.
