A Pickering rollover crash early Friday morning left an 18-year-old passenger with life-threatening injuries and an 18-year-old driver seriously hurt.
Durham Regional Police responded shortly before 3 a.m. on August 14 to the area of Altona Road and Kingston Road in west Pickering.
Police said a Nissan sedan was travelling southbound on Altona Road when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over.
Emergency crews arrived to find the sedan resting on its side with both occupants trapped inside.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel extricated the two occupants before they were transported to hospital.

Police said the 18-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
The 18-year-old driver also suffered serious injuries, although police described those injuries as non-life-threatening.
Authorities have not publicly released the identities of either person.
Alcohol May Have Been a Factor, Police Say
Durham Regional Police said alcohol may have contributed to the collision.
However, investigators have not determined the cause of the crash and no impairment charge or other criminal charge has been publicly announced.
The circumstances leading up to the vehicle leaving the roadway remain under investigation.
Members of the Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and collected evidence.
Roads Closed During Investigation
Roads in the area of Altona Road and Kingston Road were closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam, cellphone or surveillance video from the area around the time of the crash to contact the Collision Investigation Unit.
The Pickering rollover crash remains under investigation.
