Parents and caregivers visiting a Pickering indoor playground can now enjoy specialty coffee, matcha drinks and other refreshments while their children play.
The new Pickering play cafe, Littles & Lattés Café, has opened inside Fun Factory Play at 1420 Bayly Street, Unit 15. The café provides an on-site refreshment option for families using the indoor climbing structures, play areas and birthday-party facilities.
Fun Factory describes the café as a comfortable space where adults can enjoy coffee and other drinks while remaining close to their children.
Pickering Play Cafe Serves Coffee and Matcha
Littles & Lattés offers hot and iced espresso drinks, flavoured lattes, matcha beverages, teas and hot chocolate.
The specialty latte menu includes vanilla lattes, caramel macchiatos, Spanish lattes, chai lattes and a house latte prepared with oat milk. Hot specialty drinks generally range from $5 to $5.50, while iced versions range from $6 to $6.50.
Matcha options include a traditional matcha latte, vanilla matcha latte, oat-milk Fun Factory Matcha Latte and an iced strawberry matcha latte topped with strawberry cold foam.
Customers can also order espresso, Americanos, cappuccinos, cortados, flat whites, shaken espresso and brown-sugar shaken espresso. Available add-ons include flavoured syrups, cold foam and oat milk.
Tea choices include green, black, Earl Grey and peppermint tea. The café also sells hot chocolate and packaged snacks.
Menu prices and availability may change, so visitors should review the current café menu before ordering.
Indoor Playground Serves Children and Teenagers
Fun Factory Play accepts drop-in visitors from infancy through age 17.
Current admission is $5 for children under one, although admission is free for an infant attending with a paying sibling. Admission costs $10 for children ages one to three, $14 for children ages four to 13 and $10 for visitors ages 14 to 17.
Admission includes unlimited play during the visit, with no set time limit. A maximum of two adults per family is included.
Fun Factory offers a 50 per cent discount on drop-in admission on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The discount does not apply to every operating period.
The facility is unsupervised, meaning parents and guardians must actively supervise their children. Every child requires a signed waiver before entering the play area.
Children and adults must wear socks throughout the facility. Socks can be purchased at reception when needed.
Cafe and Playground Hours
Fun Factory and Littles & Lattés are open from noon to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The facility is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Outside drinks are not permitted, although nut-free outside food is allowed during regular drop-in play. The business describes the facility as nut-aware but does not guarantee a completely nut-free environment.
Birthday Party Packages Available
Fun Factory also offers private-room birthday-party packages that include indoor play, food, drinks, cake, digital invitations and assistance from a party host.
Packages currently begin at $369 for 10 children and 10 adults. Larger packages and full-facility private bookings are also available.
