Pair of teens accused by Durham : 16-year-old boys have been charged with arson after Durham police say they tried to burn down an Oshawa business.
Police were initially responded to the scene around 4:10 a.m. Feb. 19 after receiving an armed person call, police said
When officers arrived — the alleged crime scene was near Simcoe Street South and Bruce Street — they were informed that two male suspects had arrived in a black vehicle and then approached a storefront, say police.
The Durham force alleges one suspect used a hammer to break the front door glass while a second suspect attempted to ignite an incendiary device.
Both suspects were arrested a short time later in the area of King Street East and Ritson Road, say police.
At the time of their arrest, police say both suspects were wanted on outstanding warrants by several police services.
A pair of 16-year-olds — one from Scugog, the other Toronto — each face more than a dozen charges.
