Oshawa Centre reopened Tuesday after a water-related issue forced the shopping mall to close unexpectedly for the day on Monday.
The centre said the problem had been resolved and that the mall would resume operations on September 29. The reopening is a substantial update to Monday’s closure, which also affected health services operating at the shopping centre.
Water-related problem resolved
The mall closed Monday morning as staff responded to the issue. Oshawa Centre did not publish additional technical details about the cause in the statement reported Tuesday, but confirmed the problem was fixed before reopening.
During the closure, Durham Region said its breastfeeding and sexual health clinics at the Oshawa Centre were unavailable because of the watermain issue. People with appointments were advised to watch regional service information for updates.
Visitors should check current hours
Stores and services inside the mall may set their own hours, so visitors attending a specific retailer, restaurant or clinic should confirm that location’s schedule directly.
The reopening was reported by Durham Radio News at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday. It follows All About Durham’s earlier report on the temporary closure and reflects the material change from a closed facility to resumed public access.
