The 2026 Oshawa business award winners include a downtown theatre, a national historic site, a Durham College sustainability centre and several local entrepreneurs and organizations.
The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce presented nine honours through its Business Excellence Awards, recognizing business performance, innovation, tourism, sustainability and community leadership.
Biltmore Theatre and Parkwood recognized
Biltmore Theatre received the Excellence in Business award for organizations with one to 30 employees. The downtown venue has hosted concerts, live theatre, comedy and community events.
Parkwood National Historic Site was named Tourism Operator of the Year, while the Barrett Centre of Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture at Durham College received the Sustainability Award.
Durham Children’s Aid Foundation was selected as Not-for-Profit of the Year. TEDxOshawa received the Emerging Business of the Year award, and Windfields Mechanical Group Inc. was honoured for Innovation in Business.
Individual awards
Nash Escalada of Tachiqui was named Business Person of the Year. Sasidhar Sajja of Madurham Indian Cuisine received the Intrapreneur of the Year award.
Craig Mack received the G.W. McLaughlin Award, completing the chamber’s announced list of nine recipients.
The awards are intended to recognize contributions to Oshawa’s economic growth, business community and local civic life. The chamber’s current public homepage provides information about its business network, programs and advocacy, while Durham Radio News published the complete 2026 recipient list.
The latest honours add a local chamber distinction for Biltmore Theatre after the venue received a national live-music teamwork award earlier in 2026. The Oshawa business award winners span arts, food, education, tourism, social services and skilled trades.
