Beaverton, Ontario – A high-risk takedown by Durham Regional Police led to the capture of three suspects involved in an armed home invasion early Tuesday morning in the Lake Simcoe community of Beaverton.

At around 4:30 a.m. on April 1, 2026, police responded to a call from residents of a home on Highland Crescent and Centre Street who had witnessed a man outside their front door armed with a firearm. The residents fled the home in fear. Shortly after, two suspects forcibly entered the home, and the situation escalated as they attempted to flee in a vehicle driven by a third suspect.

All three suspects were held for a bail hearing.

Durham Regional Police’s Commitment to Safety

The police operation was praised for its successful outcome. Durham Regional Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in the case. The high-risk takedown ensured that no further harm came to the victims or officers.
