Free Guided Hike Uxbridge Explores Wilder Walker Glen Major Forests

Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to take part in a Free Guided Hike Uxbridge event on April 26, 2026, offering a scenic and active way to explore some of the region’s most beautiful natural areas. The hike will run from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm, starting at the East Duffins Headwaters parking lot located at 2499 Brock Road, Uxbridge.

This Free Guided Hike Uxbridge will take participants through a loop connecting Wilder Forest, Walker Woods, and Glen Major Forest, providing a diverse and immersive trail experience. Organized with support from the Oak Ridges Trail Association (ORTA) and led by experienced guide Amir Alemohammad, the hike is open to both members and non-members, making it accessible to a wide range of participants.

The route covers approximately 15 to 16 kilometres, following ORTA Map 5, and is considered a moderate-level hike. Participants can expect a steady pace with some hills, uneven terrain, and natural trail conditions including rocks and tree roots. The loop will pass along Brock Road, Concession Road 6, and several side trails, offering scenic views and a chance to experience the natural beauty of Uxbridge’s trail system.

Participants are encouraged to come prepared for the Free Guided Hike Uxbridge by wearing proper hiking boots and bringing essentials such as at least two litres of water, snacks or lunch, and optional hiking poles for stability. A short break of 10 to 20 minutes is planned during the hike for rest and refreshments. The duration and distance may be adjusted depending on weather conditions to ensure safety and comfort.

Organizers ask participants to arrive by 8:15 am for a prompt 8:30 am start. Clear instructions have been provided regarding parking, with a designated free parking lot located just off Brock Road near the trailhead. Attendees are reminded not to park along the lane or on nearby private property, including the horseback riding facility.

The Free Guided Hike Uxbridge is part of ongoing efforts to encourage outdoor recreation and connect residents with the natural landscapes of Durham Region. Uxbridge, known for its extensive trail network and scenic forests, continues to be a popular destination for hiking and nature exploration.

Residents and visitors looking for an active and refreshing outdoor experience are encouraged to join this guided hike and enjoy the beauty of Wilder, Walker, and Glen Major forests in a supportive group setting.
