A Fieldgate parking closure will temporarily shut the central lot at the Whitby sports complex and Roybrook Park on Monday, October 5.
The Town of Whitby says the lot will close at 7 a.m. for final asphalt paving and is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6.
Other parking areas remain available
The affected central lot is accessed from Kent Mills Road on the west side of Fieldgate Sports Complex at 2 Gathering Place.
The main parking lot on the east side of the facility will remain open. Accessible parking spaces and electric-vehicle charging stations in that area will continue to be available.
The west parking lot, reached from Ashburn Road, will also stay open during the work.
Pedestrian access maintained
Whitby says people will still be able to walk to the sports complex and park throughout the paving operation. Visitors should follow posted directions and allow extra time to reach an alternate parking area.
The Fieldgate parking closure is scheduled for 24 hours, but paving work can be affected by weather and site conditions. The project completes the final asphalt surface in the central lot.
