Durham Regional Police are investigating a Durham Region fire incident that occurred on February 3, 2026, at a residence in Oshawa. Three male suspects entered the home located near Richmond Street East and Ritson Road North and set the house on fire before fleeing the scene. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the main floor of the home.
A male resident was evacuated and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Oshawa Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.
The suspects, described as three males, fled the area in a black sedan prior to police arrival. Authorities are asking anyone with information or video footage from 11 pm to 12 am on that evening to contact Detective Constable Ellis of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2743.
This residence had previously been targeted in a shooting incident in November 2025, raising concerns about possible links between the two events.
