Clarington’s forestry team will offer free outdoor tree-pruning demonstrations in four municipal parks on Saturday, September 26.
The Clarington tree care demos are part of National Forest Week. Arborists will explain how pruning supports tree health and show practices residents can use.
Morning sessions
Sessions run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Rosswell Park, 141 Rosswell Drive in Courtice, and Newcastle Community Park, 1780 Rudell Road.
Afternoon sessions
Sessions run from 1 to 2 p.m. at Orono Park, 61 Princess Street, and Guildwood Park, 180 Guildwood Drive in Bowmanville.
Arborists will cover why pruning matters, when and how trees should be pruned, municipal urban-forest work and maintenance practices for private trees. Participants can ask questions.
No registration required
The demonstrations are open to everyone with no advance registration. Parking may be limited. Outdoor washrooms or portable toilets are expected, and participants may bring a lawn chair.
Residents should check the municipal notice before travelling in case weather or site conditions change the schedule.
