Two Bowmanville teenagers are among a group of seven young people facing serious charges after a Bowmanville teens charged Scarborough stabbing 2026 case that saw one person hospitalized in Toronto’s Flemingdon Park neighbourhood last weekend.

Toronto Police say the incident unfolded on Sunday when the victim and his friends were involved in a physical altercation with the suspects earlier in the day. Later, while the victim was walking through Flemingdon Park, seven youths returned in their vehicles and engaged the victim in another physical altercation.

A 16-year-old from Toronto faces the most serious charge of attempted murder and made his first court appearance on Monday. Four other teens charged with aggravated assault appeared in court on Wednesday, including a 17-year-old from Toronto, a 16-year-old from Toronto, and two 15-year-olds from Bowmanville.

Two adults from Toronto were also charged in connection with the incident. Ahmadullah Rahimi, 18, and Qudratullah Rahimi, 20, both face aggravated assault charges and made their first court appearances this week.

The case has drawn attention in the Bowmanville community, where the two accused 15-year-olds reside. Bowmanville is part of the Municipality of Clarington within Durham Region, located approximately 75 kilometres east of downtown Toronto. The community is known for its family-oriented neighbourhoods and strong local schools.

Local residents in Bowmanville expressed concern upon learning that youths from their community were involved in such a serious violent incident in another city. Community leaders have emphasized the importance of addressing youth violence and ensuring young people have access to positive activities and mentorship programs throughout Durham Region.

Toronto Police are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Tips can be shared directly with investigators at 416-808-5505 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.222tips.com.

The charges against all seven accused have not been proven in court. Under Canadian law, the identities of the young offenders cannot be published under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which protects the privacy of youth involved in criminal proceedings.

This incident comes amid ongoing discussions across the Greater Toronto Area and Durham Region about youth safety, gang prevention, and community-based intervention programs aimed at steering young people away from violent crime. Several organizations in Clarington and surrounding Durham municipalities have been working to expand outreach efforts targeting at-risk youth.

Durham Regional Police have previously partnered with community organizations on outreach initiatives in Clarington and Bowmanville, focusing on at-risk youth and early intervention strategies to prevent escalation into more serious criminal activity. These programs aim to provide young people with alternatives to violence and connect them with educational and employment resources.

The stabbing in Flemingdon Park highlights the broader challenges facing communities across the GTA when it comes to youth violence and the movement of young people between different areas of the region. Anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
