The Town of Ajax is inviting residents to share their views as it undertakes a review of its Municipal Alcohol Policy (MAP).
The policy governs how alcohol may be consumed at municipal facilities, parks, and town-run events, with the goal of balancing public safety and enjoyment while promoting responsible and managed alcohol service in select public spaces.
As part of the review, the town has launched a public survey, open until January 22, seeking community feedback on whether alcohol service rules at town locations and events should be expanded, restricted, or remain unchanged. The survey also asks residents for their opinions on both temporary and permanent liquor service options.
Survey results will be compiled and presented to Ajax council next month as part of the policy update process.
“Through this survey, we want to ensure we gain a sense of how the community feels about expanding liquor service rules at town locations and events, and whether they should be more restrictive or more flexible,” said Nicole Cooper, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Ajax. “We appreciate the community’s feedback to help guide the town’s review and update of the policy.”
Residents interested in participating are encouraged to complete the survey before the January 22 deadline.
